We are glad to invite you all to the opening of the brand new exhibition CO:ABITARE by Dario Bosio at La Triennale di Milano, part of the collective exhibition ABITANTI promoted by the Museum of Contemporary Photography and the Italian Ministry of Culture.
CO:ABITARE is a visual investigation into the existing collaborative and shared housing experiences in the North-West of Italy. The variety of visual styles used by the author reflects the diversity of approaches to the themes of collective living, each one of them born and developed around different needs and choices made by the individuals that constitute them.
Through a visual language that aims to evoke rather than showing, the author has deliberately avoided simplistic depictions and stereotypical imagery normally associated with the theme of collective life, focusing instead on the details and atmospheres that define the different experiences. The portrait has been chosen as the privileged instrument of investigation, for every shared experience starts with the choices made by the individuals that form the collective.
The series of images was shot in the collaborative social housing experiences of Torino, co-housing in Milan, eco-villages in Liguria and spiritual communities between Piedmont and Lombardia.
